Alena Kuhlemeier
Alena is a fifth year PhD student in the Sociology Department. Originally from Maryland, Alena graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Pomona College in Claremont, California in 2011 and a Master of Arts in Sociology from UNM in 2015. Alena's research interests are focused largely in behavioral and mental health, race and ethnicity, and medical sociology. Though trained in academic sociology, Alena hopes to use her training in more applied environments and learn how best to serve the community in which she lives. In her work for the Evaluation Lab, Alena is partnered with Centro Sávila.
